Today Amy and Ah Seong attended a job interview at Citi Bank.
The terms of employment lean towards worker exploitation. Among the terms are:
a) Long working hours. 7.30am to 6.00pm
b) Working on Sat.
c) Required to do all types of work as directed by the employer.
d) No sick leave is allowed.
e) Must sign a contract of employment for at least 6 months.
f) No commitment on the salary despite the harsh working conditions.
g) No clear definition of job designation.
I am glad that both teenagers have the common sense to reject the terms of employment and will decline to take up employment even if they were offered the job.
