Happiness is imperfect

Today I set a goal to accomplish 10 tasks. But due to so many disruptions and interruptions I managed to accomplish only two. Still it is something accomplished though not the perfect score.

Then I recall reading this passage in the internet and that made me realise that I have a legit reason to celebrate some happiness.

"Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect.
It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections. . . ."

Yes looking intensely beyond these ugly and thorny branches I see in the background the blurry image of the beautiful and serene sea.

May all beings be happy and let not an imperfect day mar your happiness.

Qing Ming Festival in Ipoh

Weather forecast predicts a temperature of 32 deg C and a passing shower or two for tomorrow Sunday. I sure hope that tomorrow morning the weather is cool with clear sky and no shower when I and family members trek up the hillside cemetery in Ipoh to honour our ancestors and sweep the tombs in conjunction with the annual Qing Ming Festival.

Shoji Seki Shihan Seminar Kuala Lumpur 23/3 to/25/3 2012

My old left knee injury surfaced again due to the vigorous physical exertion of the three day seminar. Last night I walked with a slight limp. I expect with rest the knee inflammation should clear up in a few days time.

Printer woes

Ithought I could squeeze the
last drop of ink out of the almost
depleted ink cartridges to thrash and
work the printer to the ground
Alas after completed printing
half a page the inkjet printer
refused to eject the paper
Then I knew and had to concede
that the time time to replace the
spent ink cartridges has come.

An ordinary day & an extraordinary sunshine smile

On my way to attend a meeting
stopped by a toll plaza to pay toll
Thinking of cheering up my mood
ahead of the meeting I waved my
hands in a friendly gesture and
flashed a big toothy smile in the
direction of the lady ticket collector.
Not paying any particular attention
I didn't register her appearance.
Startled, at first her face broke into
a faint smile, then, a grin, and then
a giggle and, finally burst out laughing aloud
before handing me the change and receipt.
When she popped her head out of the
counter window to wave me on with
another smile only then I noticed her face.
Wow! What a fair lady behind the sweet smile.
Thank you miss for brightening up
my ordinary day with your
extraordinary sunshine smile.

Magpie robins' sing song chatter

Sitting at my desk in the office all day
mindlessly crunching numbers in the pc
Feeling drowsy and lethargic from monotony
the high pitch sing song chatter of birds
jolted me out of my senses
Coming from the window ledge behind my desk
through the gaps in the curtain
I saw two black magpie robins with yellow beaks perched
on the concrete ledge chatting to each other in bird talk
When I carefully parted the curtains to
capture the moment with my camera phone
the birds flew off the ledge after noticing my intrusion
Dear little birds please come again to sing your songs

Nail art

The colourful banner prominently displayed in front of a beauty shop offering manicure service caught my attention.

The price ranges from RM18 to RM133 depending on the design. I suppose the higher price includes pedicure service as well, although the banner didn't mention pedicure service. I saw a few ladies inside the shop getting their nails styled.

Maybe I don't know how to appreciate nail art but looking at pictures of some of the manicure design and styling I thought they look a bit grotesque on a woman's fingers.

Keep on going and moving...

Afriend asked me over lunch a few days ago how long that I intend to keep on working. He knew that I am past the employment shelf life of 55, the official age of retirement for the employee in the private sector.

"For as long as the company requires my service, I as the driver, still with a full tank of gasoline will continue to step on the gas accelerator, keeping going and moving ", I responded. For the past few years my employer keeps on renewing my employment contract without asking me.

May each and every person cherish life by keeping on going and moving until the last breath.... for a happy and long life....

Forgetfulness

Oh dear and oops. I've just come to realise in the moment that I have forgotten about meeting up with an overseas friend for a chat on Thur night.

No wonder I couldn't shake off this vague feeling all week that there was to be be a coming event that I might have slipped off my mental horizon.

My sincere apology to KTY.  I hope he is still in town.
